Introduction

"Only when elections are clean and fair can citizens be real masters of their own destiny and expect holders of public office to act accountably and effectively."

BERSIH started out as the Joint Action Committee for Electoral Reform, which was formed in July 2005, and the coalition’s objective was to push for a thorough reform of the electoral process in Malaysia.

The Beginning of BERSIH

BERSIH was officially launched on 23 November 2006 in the Malaysian Parliament building lobby. It was attended by poitical party leaders, civil society groups and NGOs, including PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, PKR vice-president Sivarasa Rasiah, DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng, DAP National Publicity Secretary and MP for Seputeh Teresa Kok, PAS deputy president Nasharudin Mat Isa, PAS Youth chief Salahudin Ayub, PSM Secretary-General S. Arutchelvan, Malaysian Trade Union Congress Syed Shahir Syed Mohamud, WDC executive director Maria Chin Abdullah and SUARAM executive director Yap Swee Seng.

  • The next "Perhimpunan BERSIH" will be on the 9th July 2011 (Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections).
  • To me, this gathering is for a good cause. But why Barisan Nasional is so against this rally/gathering, I do not know (pura-pura tak tahu). They come up with stories that this rally is going to be a negative one yada yada yada.
  • If Barisan Nasional supporters do support for clean election, then why are they being defensive?!
  • That was what happened in the year 2007 (if I'm not mistaken). If you don't believe me then please watch the video below.

  • This particular Zainuddin Maidin denied police firing by saying "Police don't don't fire anybody (at 0:52)". Then continued saying that Al Jazeera was trying to portray Malaysia as a substandard country. No?
  • Yes we do have elections dear Mr. Zainuddun Maidin, but how clean and fair were those past elections?
  • Wallahu'alam.
Terkujut ke? =D

  • Oh and yes, we had an early celebration, Abah's 25th birthday. Wallaweyh kita same age lah abah! =D
  • Two different cakes. 1/2 each. Puas. =p
These babies are so attached to their grandparents. Before Tok Abah, Ajim and Nenek arrived, I heard Almira said this while playing with her  building blocks, "Nenek, Tok Abah, Ajim . . ". Disebutnya yang tak ada depan mata dia. When they entered the house gate, she literally jumped around with excitement.
Baby Amir was left in his crib after the "sing-along" moment. =) Kesian dia.
  • Lets together fight for clean and fair elections! If not for you, then do it for your kids, nephews and nieces.
  • Wouldn't you want superb leaders to lead your children?
Off to the post office!
