I heard on t.v. (if I'm not mistaken) that we can use normal olive oil for frying instead of extra virgin olive oil, EVOO. EVOO doesn't stand heat hence it is best to be consumed as is. As for the olive fruit, if you cannot bear the taste, I reckon that you cook it together with white/biriani rice ie. in the same rice cooker. I made a simple salad using EVOO for my family weeks ago. Would like to share the recipe with all of you.
2 large Tomatoes (tiny cubes)
2 inches Cucumber (tiny cubes)
3 small green chillies
2 to 4 Kasturi Lime
1 to 2 tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive oil, EVOO
Salt (half pinch)
- Mix everything in a bowl.
- Serve. Best eaten with rice or healthy crackers.
Almighty Allah (SWT) describes the olive tree as a tree of barkah (blessing) (Surah Noor, verse 35) : Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light is like a niche within which is a lamp, the lamp is within glass, the glass as if it were a pearly [white] star lit from [the oil of] a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire. Light upon light. Allah guides to His light whom He wills. And Allah presents examples for the people, and Allah is Knowing of all things.
